Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, October 30, 2008

Hi everyone, thank you for joining us for the Thursday surf repot.  Today we went back to Maderas and the waves were fun for beginners.  It was running about knee to waist high with a few sporadic chest high sets coming through and the offshore winds stayed with us all day long.  Check it out.

The weather was great at the beach today and as I said before, the waves were perfect for beginners.  We had plenty of them trying to improve their skills.  In the first shot we got Imke from Germany with a nice looking right.  She’s been putting in a lot of water time because she plans on being here for a few more months and wants to be ready for when the swells start marching in.

Also there were some longboarders out there enjoying the waves. Here we got Martin “El Peru” riding one of the bigger sets of the day. Peru was trying to touch the nose with his belly, but unfortunately he couldn’t this time.  Hey man maybe next time, don’t give up!!!

There weren’t many locals out at Medares today, only Joaquin “La Mulita” Cascante. He decided to borrow a longboard and managed to catch a few of the better waves of the day. Here he is taking off on a fun looking little right.

We caught Sam "El Coco" doing his best on this small but nice looking left. He had a great time out there catching waves and showing us that it is a good idea to have a fish in your quiver.  When the waves are small these boards will work wonders for your surfing.

We were all happy to see the first cruise ship in the bay signifying the arrival of the high season. The rain is almost gone and we hope that many people come join us for the summer season to share the sunshine and surf and our culture here in Nicaragua. If you are planning on making a surf trip to Nicaragua please send us an email at nicaraguasurfreport.com and we’ll make all your dreams come true. That’s all for today.  Please check back with us tomorrow.
