Just inland from the famed Playa Colorado is the first and only golf course on the pacific coast of Nicaragua, and the Playa Iguana Condosl are just 300 meters behind the middle of the beach and Panga drops. The condos are centrally located to hit either Colorado on the south end, or the point on the north end.

There are a total of 20 units, situated around a central pool and shaded bar area. The units are fully outfitted for a comfortable stay, they include fully stocked kitchens, lines (towels and sheets), Satellite TV/DVD, stereo, AC, and daily housekeeping service. Free wifi Internet is available.

There is a large 20 meter lap pool, a kiddy pool and a bar style pool.

The golf course is 9 holes. So in between surf sessions you can jump in a golf cart and hit a round before your sunset session.

The wave directly to the north is called Panga drops. It breaks over a rock outcropping on an otherwise all sand beach. The zone magnifies swell so that Panga’s is always significantly bigger than surrounding breaks. This wave is often shifty with two, sometimes three main peaks. It breaks softer and slower than the rest of the beach, making it a little more of an “all-levels” break. The main beach break area of Colorado is farther down the beach where the waves are faster and hollower than Panga’s.

The beach is a stunning mile-long white sand stretch, and the surrounding forest is home to wild howler monkeys, parrots, iguanas, and more. The fishing and diving is excellent. If you choose not to catch your own, the fishing village of Gigante sells fresh fish every day and is accessible along the beach.
